Dodie Bellamy in conversation with Paul Clinton
17th November 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm£5
Poet and critic Dodie Bellamy is the author of ten books and numerous chapbooks, focusing on sexuality, politics, feminism, experimentation and all things queer. This year, in recognition of her contribution to fiction, poetry and art writing, she is the subject of a season of events at contemporary art space CCA Wattis, San Francisco.
Join us at Burley Fisher where Bellamy will appear in conversation with writer, art critic and Goldsmiths lecturer in curating Paul Clinton, to discuss her varied career. They will cover themes of gender, horror and cultural consumption across her fiction and non-fiction; her work as one of the original practitioners of ‘new narrative’, a queer and socialist writing ethos which is the subject of her recent edited volume with Kevin Killian, Writers Who Love Too Much (2017, Nightboat); and the influence of contemporary art on her work and that of her contemporaries such as Kathy Acker and Dennis Cooper.
