Isabel Waidner and Joanna Walsh in conversation

Joanna Walsh and Isabel Waidner will be in conversation about their recent book projects, Walsh’s Break.Up (Tuskar Rock, 2018) and Waidner’s We Are Made Of Diamond Stuff (Dostoyevsky Wannabe, 2019). They will discuss the intersections of criticism, autobiography and fiction in contemporary innovative writing, genealogies of avant-garde literature in the UK, Europe and the US, and the limitations and possibilities of form expanding writing within professional publishing contexts.
This event marks the launch of Waidner’s We Are Made Of Diamond Stuff (Dostoyevsky Wannabe, 2019).
Isabel Waidner is a writer and critical theorist. Their books include We Are Made Of Diamond Stuff (2019), Gaudy Bauble (2017) and Liberating the Canon: An Anthology of Innovative Literature (ed., 2018), published by Dostoyevsky Wannabe. Waidner is the co-curator of the event series Queers Read This at the Institute of Contemporary Art (with Richard Porter), and a lecturer at University of Roehampton, London.
Joanna Walsh is the author of seven books including a digital novel, seed-story.com. Her latest book, Break.up, is published by Semiotext(e) and Tuskar Rock. Her writing has been widely published in anthologies, newspapers and journals including The Dalkey Archive’s Best European Fiction, Granta Magazine, The Guardian, The New Statesman, and The Los Angeles Review of Books. She is an Arts Foundation fellow, contributing editor at 3:AM Magazine, and the founder of #readwomen, described by the New York Times as “a rallying cry for equal treatment for women writers”.
