Wednesday 11th October
6.30pm-9.00pm
Please join us for the launch of new independent press and social enterprise, MTO Press: a press dedicated to publishing international literature in English translation written and translated by women and non-binary authors + translators.
Joining us for the launch are seven of the translators currently working on MTO’s catalogue: Juana Adcock, Jen Calleja, Rosalind Harvey, Christina MacSweeney, Miriam Tobin, Ayça Türkoğlu and Kate Webster.
Each translator will be discussing and reading an excerpt from their respective translations (as a preview of MTO’s upcoming titles) and we will then have a brief Q+A on more general translation topics.
Previously published translations from the translators will be on sale and available for signing, on the night, and (free) merch exclusive to the event will be available from MTO.
Readings from:
- Juana Adcock: The Sadness of Shadows, originally written in Spanish by Lola Ancira (Mexico)
