Join Linea Maja Ernst in conversation with Amy Key to celebrate the publication of her debut novel, WAIST DEEP.

In WAIST DEEP, five friends from university reunite in a summerhouse in rural Denmark. They bring two partners, two kids, and a wide variety of personal, political, and cultural baggage. The group attempts to cook, swim, read and flirt their way to the picturesque summer getaway of their dreams – whilst wrestling with their changing relationships and frustrated expectations of how they thought life would unfold by their early 30s.

A literary sensation in Linea's home of Denmark and now translated into ten languages, it’s the perfect indulgent summer read for 2025.

Linea Maja Ernst is a staff writer at the Danish newspaper Weekendavisen, where she covers literature, pop culture and private life. Waist Deep is her debut novel and was an instant bestseller on first publication in Denmark in 2024.

Amy Key is a poet and author of Sunday Times bestselling memoir, Arrangements in Blue, and two collections of poetry, Luxe and Isn't Forever, which was a Book of the Year in the Guardian, New Statesman and The Times. Her poems have been widely published and anthologised, and her essays have appeared in At the Pond, Granta, the Poetry Review and elsewhere.
