Join Nikkitha Bakshani and Lucie Elven in conversation about Nikkitha's debut novel Ghost Chilli. Publishing 4th July with Fleet, Ghost Chilli is a remarkable literary debut about trying to find honest relationships in an isolating world, and the weight we unwittingly carry. It follows Muskan, who has an objectively great life – a creative job in the big city, supportive friends, no trouble finding first dates – but it feels empty and boring. As obstacles mount and the easy-going persona Muskan has built starts to crumble, she is forced to face a question that's been quietly burning at the back of her mind: Why did her family move to America so abruptly?

Warm, funny and sharply observed, Ghost Chill is a fantastic literary debut from an exciting new voice in fiction.

Nikkitha Bakshani is an American writer based in London. Before getting an MA in Creative & Life Writing from Goldsmiths, she was an editor at New York-based publication Food52. She has worked at the Paris Review, Departures, and the Village Voice. She writes a Substack called Table of Content

Lucie Elven is the author of the novella The Weak Spot. She has also written articles and short stories for The New Yorker, the London Review of Books, The New York Times, Granta, NOON and Le Monde diplomatique.
